Summer Essential Series - Slides and Sandals

Next item from my summer essential series are slides and sandals.

You either love or hate slides. Over the last few months they have become incredibly popular. You go out and every second girl is wearing a pair of slides. I'm one of those girls, since purchasing my first pair a few months ago I've been pretty much wearing them 24/7. I love that slides come in a variety of colours, patterns and styles. This is why they are in my summer essential series, you can find the perfect pair to match your outfit. Also they are super comfortable.

Here are some of my favourite slides...

If you aren't a fan of slides then sandals are your summer essential shoe. Providing the right pair, sandals are comfortable on foot and can really dress up an outfit. Before I purchased my slides a few months ago, I was wearing a Windsor Smith pair of sandals throughout all the seasons. I love how versatile they are. You can pair them with anything.

Summer Essentials Series - Dresses and Playsuits

Firstly, I'd just like to say I'm sorry for my lack of blog posts recently. As I'm sure everyone can relate when  I say that the Christmas and New Year period can be a busy one. Saying that I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

I initially was going to do a summer essentials blog post but when I started to write it, I realised it was going to be too long and decided it would be a good idea to break up my original blog post and post them separately under a 'summer essential series.'

First up in the summer essential series are Dresses and Playsuits.

Dresses and playsuits are a summer must for me. In particular ones that are brightly coloured and have fun patterns on them. Also I prefer dresses and playsuits that are loosely fitted during summer so you don't get hot and sweaty. This summer I am definitely loving Sportsgirl's range, blues and whites feature quite a bit which is perfect for summer in my opinion. Dresses and playsuits are an easy option when it comes to going out, just pair it with a cute pair of sandals or slides and you're set to go.

Here are just a few of my favourite dresses and playsuits for summer...

Summer Bling

I'm not the only one who during winter loves a warm knitted beanie or scarf as an accessory, but during the warmer months you can't go wrong with a few simple pieces of jewellery to dress up an outfit.

I also found last summer I developed an obsession with wearing many different silver rings and toe rings. I felt like a kid who puts cheezels on all their fingers before eating them.

During the summer months I tend not to wear my expensive jewellery all that often due to the chance of losing it at the beach etc so I usually wear jewellery from clothing stores such as Sportsgirl and Glassons, I also buy from the jewellery stores Lovisa and Collette as I found all the jewellery items I look at are priced reasonably and are good quality.

Below are some photos I've found online of some jewellery pieces I wouldn't mind owning.

Size does matter - all about them brows

I'm sure I'm not the only to think that the importance of eyebrows has increased significantly over the last few months??

According to a tumblr text post - "your eyebrows can either make or break you." I agree with this to a degree but its kind of scary at the same time thinking that the hairs above your eyes on your forehead are so important.

The method I use to maintain my brows is threading. I get my brows threaded at 'Exquisite Brows' for only $20, which I think is very reasonable considering my brows go from a solid 4 to a 10 within minutes. I usually get my brows done every 2 months sometimes less or more depending on if I have any parties or events around that time. I'm sure some people are wondering how I can last 2 months without having my brows done professionally, but in between getting my brows threaded I do trim and pluck them to somehow maintain them.

I also fill my eyebrows in with the Australis Brow Pencil (Australis Brow Pencil) and the Australis Brow Gel. Both these products are well priced and work a treat.

Bondi Sands Tan Review

I thought it would be a good idea to make a post about my holy grail tanning products - Bondi Sands.

With summer just around the corner for those living in the southern hemisphere who are looking a for natural tan during summer without having to unsafely tan outside. Also for those living in the northern hemisphere who will soon be in the winter months wanting a natural looking tan as though they've just come back from an overseas trip, this is the blog post for you.

I've found over the years with self tanning products that:
1) they can leave you orange, looking like an oompa loompa
2) they have a strong chemical smell
3) they aren't very tinted so its hard to see where you have and haven't applied tan

Since using Bondi Sands tanning products I have found the problems listed above don't happen. Bondi Sands self tanning foam is easy to apply, it has a nice scent and is tinted. I've used the mist a few times and it also has a nice scent to it and is tinted.

With Bondi Sands tanning products I find it fades really well compared to other tanning products which sometimes fade unevenly leaving patches of tan. I apply this tan every two weeks although it does fade much earlier, I just like to give my skin a bit of a break in between tans.

Overall I love Bondi Sands tanning products and recommend their products.

Below are few before and after photos.

Oaks Day 2014

Oaks Day is all about the ladies and oh boy did they steal the spotlight.

Popular choices by racegoers consisted of floral prints, pastels and lace.

Necklines were higher and something I really liked seeing was that the skirts length were longer which brought a sophisticated glamour to Flemington.

Some of my best dressed are below.

Ashley Hart wearing White Suede dress & Kerrie Stanley headpiece

Rebeccah Panozza wearing Aurelio Costarella dress & Natalie Bikicki headpiece

Emma Clapham wearing Rodeo Show (skirt), Cue (top) & Studio Aniss headpiece

Rebecca Judd wearing Peter Pilotto & DE Millinery
